Before launching Durkin Commercial (Reg. NC DBA), Clay spent 15 years at another CRE firm in Charlotte. It was his prior experiences though working on development projects at an architecture firm that initially sparked his interest in brokerage. In 1992, he received a B.A. in Economics from Guilford College in Greensboro and then earned a degree in Advertising + Graphic Design while working in Charlotte. A native of Philadelphia, Clay has resided in Charlotte for just over thirty years and in his spare time he’s either in his backyard art studio working on vintage-signage projects, exercising or relaxing in the mountains with his family at Lake Lure.
